Lot 431 Browning BLR .308 Win. #03667K70
Belgian made rotary bolt lever-action rifle chambered in .308 Winchester manufactured circa 1970. Browning had the BLR model fabricated in Belgium from 1969 to 1973. It features a high gloss blued finish, a round 20" inch barrel, serrated curved trigger, serrated magazine release in front of magazine, wide exposed hammer, serrated hammer spur, in-the-white bolt, blade front sight with brass bead, fully-adjustable 'beer can' rear sight, a 4-shot detachable box magazine, and factory drilled and tapped receiver for optics. The walnut furniture consists of a straight grip stock with checkering around the wrist, checkered forend, black aluminum barrel band, an approximately 13 3/4" length-of-pull, and a factory brown rubber ventilated recoil pad with white spacer. The original gloss blue finish remaining is approximately 98% with superficial scratches and little else remarkable to speak of. The bore is bright with strong rifling, and the action is smooth and crisp. Furniture wood is in very good condition with scattered minor nicks, scratches, and a scuff on the left side of the buttstock. Metal displays a small amount of light spotty rust on the front end of the barrel and a minute amount emerging on the left side of the receiver. A Weatherby Variable 2-7x scope with fine crosshairs tops this rifle, and it is mounted via a Leupold single piece base and rings. The sight picture is a little cloudy. This rifle would be 'Very Good to 'Excellent' if there was no observed rust.
